Generally, the beginning of a New Year brings an optimistic and renewed enthusiasm for goal setting. With the final digit of the year turned and the Christmas holidays in our rearview mirror, we look ahead to a hopeful next 12 months, reinvigorated and geared up to live out our dreams and plans. But this January looks and feels different from all the rest. Last January, we would of never have foreseen the Covid-19 pandemic and how it would affect our lives throughout 2020. And unfortunately, much of the changes we experienced were not very positive. Many of us saw our great plans fall apart or be modified to the point of unrecognition, with the year ahead still looking uncertain. The good news is while we have little control over the pandemic we do have control over our actions and how we can behave during these challenges. In this video, our Cognitive Behavioural Therapist Adrianna discusses small ways you can work towards reaching your 2021 healthily and productively :)

A conversation with Adrianna Mannix where her and a client discuss The Inner Critic. Adrianna's background is in the field of fitness and nutrition, life coaching and cognitive behavioural therapy. She talks about what an Inner critic is, How does the voice in our head effect us in our daily lives? Can we stop that critical inner voice? or make peace with him/her, challenge her, understand her? How our experience growing up has a direct impact on how prevalent that critic is. Adrianna speaks about how as a society we struggle with compassion for the self and how that lack of self compassion can cause us to look outside of ourselves for fulfilment and happiness.
